Lettuce see...
Interview:
I emailed both of my interviewees, and one of them said they would respond by the 28th because he's busy. But I like him. He's nice. And Japanese. He's interning at the United Nations (I don't remember which role right now), which is super fancy. The other interviewee just kinda said yeah and when I gave them the questions never replied after that. So I am kinda upset about that ._. Hopefully she answers soon.
Notes:
I am doing my notes, and it's boring... But, yeah. I've got some stuff done...
Key Terms:
I've been writing key terms down as I progress. I have about 10, I think. Some of them are a bit repetitive... For example, I don't know if one being "yaoi" and one being "shounen-ai" would count because they're almost the same thing... If it doesn't count then I would only have eight.
'kbai.
That's really nice that you found an interviewee that is Japanese. I'm going to ask my grandma how she feels about homosexuality in Japan.
ReplyDelete"Lettuce" see?
ReplyDeleteHow clever, haha.
It's good that you're progressing so well. I have a lot of my notes done, but there's so much information to be recorded that I'm losing track and over-analyzing... Again...
But, um, the key terms are coming along relatively well though...
I think your grad project topic fits you very well, and I look forward to hearing about how your interview goes.
ReplyDeletegood job christina hope you do well on your interview
ReplyDeleteI think it's awesome how you get to interview someone from Japan.
ReplyDeleteAt least you have responses from your interviewees....
ReplyDeleteinterning at the United Nations....tiz fanceh...
darn that other less important interviewee...
There is a large difference between shounen-ai and yaoi.(tee hee) Shounen-ai doesn't suffer from as much censoring as yaoi does. Most yaoi manga are not even put onto bookshelves at local bookseller stores. Shounen-ai manga are sold at book stores in America but the content is changed by editors.....
(I know that has nothing to do with your subject but let me have my moment)
It's good that you got someone to do an interview with. I'm sure that wasn't easy. I agree that the notes are horribly boring. I have to take a break several times each class because I get dazed from staring at them.
